(Roberto Robersi). (Wislawa Szymborska).Senza Nomeのチケット<<The most important thing in the world is knowing how to be self-sufficient>>
Good senior support by SpRs who are generally miserable but consultants are very unsupportive and extremely toxic/borderline bullying in some subspecialties (Paeds and esp Onc).

This was my first FY1 rotation at the hospital that is rightfully nicknamed “Death Valley Hospital. (…) The ward was notoriously known to be a dumping ground of complex patients that wards did not know how to deal with.
Consultants are supportive but rarely present. Some consultants give incredibly outdated medical advice, are inappropriate/rude, do not understand that you’re human and can only work at a certain pace, and are just not safe (they don’t read notes fully or make themselves aware of the patient fully – so it will be up to YOU to let them know of any issues THERE AND THEN).
The hospital has changed significantly in the last year. Inherited debt from local hospitals means that it now is scrimping on employing doctors (Trust Grades etc) for known vacancies.
Absolute dirt. I phone porter to take ammonia level to lab on ice Porter flees hospital with sample and sells on dark web for high salary The dishonourable cabal of rascals running this place refer me to GMC over stolen blood tubes Filty dirt!
THE worst rotation I have ever been on. Work at 120mph every single day to do the bare minimum due to understaffing and finish 6-7pm everyday (1-2 hours late).
If you are a medical student and actually are dumb enough to choose this hospital then you deserve to suffer. This place was rated in the GMC survey as one of the lowest rated hospitals in the country and no surprise.
If you have a choice at all, do not train here. Having just finished foundation, it is true to say the entire hospital is farcical. Yes the people throughout are very nice, but the rubbish systems (…) make — a miserable place to work.
There are 9 online systems for different tasks and results (maybe more?) Which all require different passwords and logins. And are often broken or offline.
As SHO forced to carry reg bleep on nights and weekends. Minimal/ non-existent senior led ward round. Poor staffing levels leaving SHOs to fend for themselves majority of the time.
Very poorly supported, consultants saying they are ‘cardiologists’ and almost refusing to see general medical patients. Had to do ward round alone on my first day, no introduction no orientation to the ward and no morning handover of the patients.
Bullying, Poor leadership & No support. Today an F2 died. Those that know her said that a consultant bullied her. Dead less than 6 weeks after starting F2, emails sent around telling her she should jump off a building, not at work in the 2 weeks before her death.
At — you are just a line on the rota! No one cares if you live or die- as long as gaps in the rota are filled
Avoid!!! The bullying is relentless and openly tolerated. They’ll blame mental health for any suicides instead of the toxic culture they’ve created. Do NOT apply.
I start work at 8am, I arrived on the ward at 7:45 A nurse complained that she was waiting for discharge summaries and TTOs, At 7:55 the reg arrived- he greeted me by saying Oi idiot, I hope the notes are preped, I want to go to theater not waste time on ward rounds At 8:20 the consultant arrived and said-Oh I have to do the ward round with dumb, and dumber-lets get this over before I punch someone.
Cons – very angry Consultants who blame you for things that are not your fault
Half your time is wasted trying to find a space to see patients in minors-whereas in majors you have the joy of trying to examine patients in trolleys in the corridor where patients are packed like sardines. Zero privacy for the patient, & a horrible experience for doctors too
void!!! The bullying is relentless and openly tolerated. They’ll blame mental health for any suicides instead of the toxic culture they’ve created. Do NOT apply.
Rated as inadequate by the CQC, bullying highlighted by the CQC. Doctors just starting their career bullied to death Do not train here if you value your GMC registration. Consultants are always threatening to report junior doctors to the GMC, upper management will blindly support the consultants. Investigations into complaints are a kangaroo court, and doctors who raise patient safety concerns will be labelled as vexatious. Teaching does not exist. There are a few good consultants, but they do not stand up to the consultants who are bullies.
We lost a doctor to suicide. She was suspended after a campaign of bullying from the renal consultants, and HR Junior doctors have been sharing details of the horrific bullying emails she received. The hospital is acting like nothing has happened.
British-Palestinian Wael Arafat discovered he had a sister just 2 years ago – only to lose her to Israel's bombing of Gaza in October. He has been on a hunger strike in protest since then, having just passed 50 days.https://t.co/3Y4fLNgMhb
